Our Vision
Integrity + Communication
Mid-Atlantic Viticultural Services was created to serve and advance winegrowers in the most exciting wine growing region in the world, the East Coast of America. We use our experience and knowledge to provide the most important services grape growers need in order to overcome all challenges affecting their farms. The East Coast has a long history of unique growing regions, stellar human beings and a spirit of unity. MAVS takes historical data and combines it with the most current research and growing practices to guide winegrowers in their journey to create memorable vintages year after year.
about the owner: Glenn Lucas
I have worked in the wine industry for a decade gaining practical experience in nearly every aspect; from a small garage winery in VA being fed fruit from their front yard, to a 1.5 million liter custom crush in New Zealand. From a boutique organic vineyard in southern France, to one of the largest commercial vineyards on the east coast. My natural curiosity and heightened observational skills have led me around the world chasing every opportunity to understand what is required to grow great grapes and make great wine.
My experience is bolstered by knowledge gained from time spent at the University of Maryland where I received my B.S. in Plant Science and worked in the Grape and Small Fruit Pathology Lab. In a constant desire to improve I have also studied under the Guild of Master Sommeliers to develop my palate and increase my global wine knowledge.
Through study and experience I have the ability to successfully see newly planted grapevines turned into delicious wine. I have done it many times over for others, and I can do it for you too.
